The squash and zucchini continue to take over the garden, covering the green beans planted 3 feet away and pushing out the chicken wire fence. We also apparently have the laziest tomato plants in the Midwest, with no fruit even starting yet. The corn looks good, though, and we can’t seem to eat the lettuce fast enough.

The bugs have been kind of bad ever since Winston killed our garden-patrolling garter snake.
